I have built e-commerce systems since 1999, cloud services since their early days, and software for audiences ranging from one person to hundreds of thousands. I prefer taking responsibility for the whole.

The full stack, not just the application
Web applications, integrations, databases and server environments. I design the whole system from the visible interface to production.
Cloud and continuous maintenance
Cloud services, PaaS and serverless solutions as well as traditional server infrastructure are familiar territory. I work across platforms according to what the system needs. Launch is not the finish line, but the first day of a long-lived product.
IoT and devices
I have built IoT devices and management tools for greenhouse monitoring, lighting and home automation. The work has brought devices, sensors, automation, data transfer and interfaces together into functioning systems.
Human-centred systems
I am a programmer at heart, but my work begins with a person and a real problem, not with technology. I build systems that feel natural to use. The technical solution should make a person's work easier, not place the system's complexity on their shoulders.

Web and applications
Ruby on Rails and Hotwire are my home ground. Over the years the toolbox has also grown to include JavaScript, Vue, Node.js, HTML, CSS, PHP and many others. Building and modifying Shopify applications and themes is familiar work as well.
Data and infrastructure
I work with databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL in application development, performance optimisation and operations. I have built and maintained systems on Linux, macOS and Windows, and on Heroku, AWS and Azure. Apache, Nginx and more traditional server infrastructure are also part of the toolbox.
Payments, integrations and development environments
I have implemented e-commerce payment integrations with Paytrail, Visma Pay, Stripe, PayPal and Square, as well as payment methods such as Epassi and Smartum. I connect systems through APIs, webhooks and message queues, and have added MCP interfaces that let AI agents use software capabilities and data in a controlled way. My wider toolbox includes MQTT, Python, C#, Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot and tools for image, video and audio work.
