Hi, I'm Mika.
I build software that gets real things done.

Full-stack software developer, tech lead and entrepreneur from Rauma, Finland. E-commerce systems since 1999, product development since 1993, and curiosity for considerably longer.

Over 30 years of building, experimenting and solving problems.

I like building the whole product, not just one corner of it.

My strongest experience is in e-commerce systems and online learning platforms. I have built e-commerce systems since 1999, while learning platforms and systems for selling online courses have been part of my daily work for the past 14 years.

Along the way I have also built payment systems, ticketing, booking tools, team software, error tracking, server environments and IoT devices. I am at my best when an off-the-shelf answer does not quite fit the problem.

I can discuss the business, design the whole system, write the code and keep it running after launch.

A release is not the end of a project for me. I keep developing the product based on real use, customer feedback and changing business needs.

AI may help. The product still needs to stand on its own.

I build AI-powered features when they provide real value. I do not leave the foundation of a product dependent on an external language model.

We build client systems and software products shaped around what is actually needed, without unnecessary extras.

Not everything is work. It can still be thoroughly fascinating.

In my spare time I build city simulations and games, make ambient music and analogue sound, and take photographs. These projects let me combine systems, moods, colours and stories without everything having to solve a business problem.

Some projects get finished and released. Others remain experiments for quite a while. Sometimes I put unfinished work on display too.
